A brief listing of honors collected by ENACT, Inc. and its staff
Aaron Stein Memorial Award from the Group Psychotherapy Foundation, an affiliation of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, awarded in March 2005 for "outstanding application in both traditional and non-traditional settings."
Honored with several commendations, including one from the New York City Mayor's Office, for its work with youth after the events of September 11, 2001. A play it commissioned, entitled Finding the Words, was cited in Gail Sheehey's book, Middletown American: One Town's Passage from Trauma to Hope, as an effective program to help students and parents heal after 9/11.
Chosen as one of the first 23 organizations to receive an Empire State Partnership grant from New York State Governor George Pataki.
Selected for a panel representing Best Practices in Drop-out Prevention Programs for United Way service providers.
Selected to present at citywide teaching training workshops, sponsored by the New York City Central Board of Education, and at a number of professional conferences and workshops on social emotional education and violence prevention for teachers and administrators.
Featured in a number of media outlets, including USA Today, the New York Daily News and television station NY1.
Executive Director Diane Feldman and Director of Programs and Education Jill Balch-Coon were both awarded scholarships to Columbia University's Institute for Not-for-Profit Management.
Staff Member Betty Graham, program manager of parent and family workshops, was awarded a scholarship to complete the Family Development Training and Credentialing Program at Cornell University by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development.
